The Secret of Hijitsu
This episode picks up right where the previous one left off with Syaoran, Kurogane, Chunyan and Sorato having been taken to Kishimu's world by Kishimu. Once there, Kishimu transforms back into her object form as she had used up a lot of energy transporting them all there. However, unlike before, she now talks through her object form and can hover as she pleases.
While talking to them, she tells Syaoran that she knows that him and his friends are after Sakura's feathers and that one such feather is the cause for all of this conflict they are currently experiencing and that once they capture that feather, the crisis should end. She goes on to tell them of how, after she had killed the Ryanban and was seconds away from killing his son, a feather had fallen from the sky and the son had immediately summoned it's power, saving himself and making him the most powerful being in this world.
Elsewhere in Kishimu's world in a palace the Ryanban's son has met with three demons who have come to offer their services in defending their world from the humans who they think are invading. The Ryanban's son laughs and explains that that was just a rumor he had started to get demons to meet with him in private so he can make them his slaves by using his hijitsu, Sakura's feather and some stones made from the human's souls that his minions had been collecting. Before they can react, the Ryanban's son has activated Sakura's feather and sent the stones flying at the demons which embed themselves into their foreheads hypnotising them and forcing them to do the man's will.
Back in the regular world, Mokona reacts to the use of the feather and tells everyone that he senses it. He also explains to everyone his theory of both worlds and that he thinks they are both mirror images of each other. Sakura senses that the mirror wants to go to Chunyan so Sakura, Mokona, Fay and Arashi all set off to locate the part in this world where the feather's presence is strongest.
Meanwhile in the mirror world, Chunyan has found shelter with Kishimu (still in her object form) and Sorata under the mirror image of the bridge near her city. Apparently the river here is holy to Kishimu's people and all of her people refuse to come anywhere near it. Syaoran and Kurogane have left to sneak into the palace and have told Chunyan that she would be a hinderance as without her mirror she can not be as useful as she's with it.
Finding the palace well guarded Syaoran and Kurogane both decide the direct approach would work best and decide to just march on in. Upstairs, the Ryanban's son sees them through feather-vision and announces to the demons that the humans are invading and that they should defend themselves. As they attack, Kurogane leaps into action and slices a gem on the forehead of the closest demon. Having thought Kurogane was going to kill him, Syaoran feels relieved and then starts slicing off the gems himself, freeing the hypnotised demons.
In the other world, Sakura, Fay and Mokona have ended up at their version of the bridge. Suddenly Sakura enters a trance and begins to walk across the water where a portal opens up and both her, Fay and Mokona are transported to the mirror world. Sakura gives Chunyan her mirror but Chunyan who had been talking about her mother with Kishimu decides that she doesn't need it and decides to address all the freed demons while Syaoran and Kurogane enter the palace to combat the son. She opens her arms and talks with them all about peace and misunderstanding. After a bit of hesitation they rally around her and agree war isn't the right way.
Upstairs, while Kurogane blocks the exit, Syaoran knocks the Ryanban's son out and takes back the feather.
Later as everyone gets ready to part ways, Fay notes that the feather seems unable to go back into Sakura until the hijitsu wears off. Syaoran therefore asks Mokona to look after it for them until it's safe. Mokona opens his mouth and sucks the feather into it's body for safe keeping.
A few metres away, Kishimu asks Chunyan to be the mediator between theor two races. Chunyan agrees.
Sorato says that he'll go back to his world and tell everyone what he has learnt in this one, that their two races aren't that different afterall.
And with that, Mokona spreads his wings and once more they depart for their next world. Who knows? Perhaps they will return to this world another time.
My Original Impression

This episode had some nice scenes such the audience actually being shown how the mind control crystals are implanted on the men's foreheads and Sakura using the mirror (which is a version of The Mirror card from Card Captor Sakura) but overall this episode fell a bit flat. There just didn't seem to be much driving any of the characters. Fay didn't really do anything outstanding, neither did Mokona or Kurogane for that manner. All the characters simply seemed to be there because they have to be there.
I love most anime only episodes but this one was just so bland.
Here's hoping next week's anime only episode lives up to the preview. Features Sakura working for enough money to buy her feather which is for sale. Personally I think they should just steal it. It's hers anyway, right?
