Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Episode #44
Kero and Mokona
Mokona has brought the gang to a new world. Unfortunately Sakura, Syaoran and Fay have all landed on Kurogane!
Kurogane quickly yells at Mokona to quit it with the awkward landings. Mokona however seems a bit ill. Sakura asks him if he's okay, but Mokona simply smiles and says he's fine.
As they explore their new world they discover a statue with an image of a guardian deity on it. Sakura says that it was most likely built by people who believed it to protect them which means that even though they hadn't met any people yet, there should definitly be some in this world.
Elsewhere, Kero (known to all fans of Card Captor Sakura) wakes up and rejoices over the arrival of the saviors of his country. He flies towards them but in all the excitement crashes into a tree and knocks himself out.
Meanwhile, everyone has decided to camp for the night. As they get ready for bed, Mokona wonders aloud as to who will sleep with tonight. He goes to sleep with Kurogane, but he tells him to not even think about it. He thinks about Fay but tells him that he blows into his ears which ticles him. Sakura offers her bed to Mokona but Mokona announces that she's been moving a lot in her sleep lately.
Eventually Mokona decides to sleep with Syaoran but while everyone else falls asleep rather quickly, Mokona can't so goes for a walk and opens up a conversation window to Yuko.
Yuko wonders if Mokona may be getting homesick. Mokona doesn't understand so Yuko explains the concept to him. Mokona doesn't think he's homesick at all and that it must be something else.
Yuko catches a glimps of the statue behind Mokona (of Kero) and asks him about it. Mokona tells her that they think it's the country's guardian deity. Yuko says that she's sure that this guardian deity will make Mokona feel better.
Elsewhere, Kero wakes up after knocking himself out on the tree and is shocked to see a mountain glowing in the distance. He races towards Mokona and the gang immediately.
At the camp, everyone has been shrunk with the exception of Mokona. They all wake up and quickly realise their situation. Unfortunately, Mokona almost steps on them! Luckily Kero arrives and yells at Mokona to stop walking and takes them all to his home to explain the country's situation.
Mokona and Kero introduce themselves to each other in their own unique style. Then Kero says that this country is called the Country of Kero and that a magical feather fell from the sky one night and a bright light began to shine which shrunk all the people. Kero says he's placed all the people in a safe place but they must stop the light from shining. He also says Mokona's arrival was foretold.
Mokona and Kero head off up the mountain, suffering landslides and freezing weather conditions on their trip to the top. When they get there, they find the feather protected by a bright pink shield. Kero blasts a hole in it with his magic and Mokona dives in and takes the feather away from a regular butterfly which must have been wanting everyone to be the same size as it.
Suddenly a bright light shines from the feather.
When they arrive back at Kero's place, they find the gang slightly bigger but still small. Mokona takes his chance and sleeps with them all that night in a tight embrace. In the morning though they all return to their normal size and Sakura is horrified to see that she had completely crushed Mokona!
He revives quickly and they all say goodbye to Kero and thank him for his help and travel to the next world with Kero and hundreds of butterflies looking on.
